Disclaimer
ATS Reset is a self-service tool, not a law firm and not a guarantee. Here is exactly what we claim, and what we do not.
Not legal advice
ATS Reset is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice. The request templates, resource pages and other material on this site are general information. They do not account for your specific circumstances, and using the service does not create a lawyer–client relationship.
Privacy law varies by jurisdiction and changes over time. If you have a contested matter, or an issue with real consequences, consult a qualified lawyer in your state.
We do not send requests for you
ATS Reset generates your request and shows you where to send it. You send it yourself, from your own email address or through the vendor’s own web form. We never contact a vendor on your behalf, never transmit your request, and do not act as your agent.
We cannot guarantee deletion
Whether a company deletes your data is that company’s decision. A company may lawfully refuse or partially refuse — for example where it must retain records to meet another legal obligation, where the law you cite does not apply to it, or where it cannot verify your identity. More on why a request can be refused.
We cannot guarantee employment outcomes
Nothing on this site promises more interviews, more responses, or a job. Hiring outcomes depend on many factors, most of which have nothing to do with retained applicant data.
Our claim is narrower and, we think, honest: retained applicant data is one factor you can actually do something about, and requesting deletion is a reasonable step to take before applying again.
About the free exposure estimate
The figure shown by the free check is an estimate based on the number of hiring systems we track and how widely such systems are used.
It is not the result of searching any company’s records for your name. No system is queried about you, and we do not claim to have detected, found or discovered records relating to you specifically. It is a starting point for thinking about your exposure, not a factual finding about your data.
About the research we cite
We cite the Stanford Digital Economy Lab work on algorithmic monocultures in hiring for what it actually reports, and we link to the source so you can check it. We do not attribute claims to it that it does not make — in particular, it contains no finding about how long applicant data is retained, and no “lockout period”.
About the litigation we describe
Statements about Kistler et al. v. Eightfold AI Inc. describe allegations in a pending complaint. A complaint is one party’s account, filed to begin a case. Nothing in it has been proven, no court has ruled on it, and no finding of liability has been made against any party. How we describe that case.
About vendor contact information
Privacy addresses and web-form destinations change without notice. We maintain them on a best-effort basis and fix errors as we find them, but we cannot guarantee every destination is current at the moment you use it. If a request bounces or a link is dead, tell us through our contact page and we will update it.
No affiliation with the vendors we list
ATS Reset is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any of the companies named on this site. Company names are used solely to identify the organisation a request would be sent to, and remain the property of their respective owners.
